BC Canada Real Estate Report

BC, Canada, or British Columbia, is the westernmost of Canada's provinces. It is known for its beautiful natural landscape, but also the real estate market here, especially in areas such as Vancouver, is promising.

BC, Canada is the picturesque Canadian province, with rolling hills and mountains. The province has a population of 4.4 million people, of whom about 2.5 live in the largest city, Vancouver, which is also the third largest metropolitan area in the country.

BC, Canada real estate is likely to be a hot topic for anyone moving into this region. In most areas of the province, the housing market is expanding. With low mortgage rates and income growth promising, the housing market in this region is seeing growth especially for those within the top brackets of the market.

The last two years have been volatile, with factors such as employment and population growth being reasons why this region of the country will see a bigger boom in the housing market in the next two years.

Within the region, some areas will see different results than others. Various areas of British Columbia, Canada's real estate market will be a seller's market, such as in Vancouver. In areas such as Kamloops, Okanagan and Kootenay, the market trends point to more of a buyer's market, though some areas may become more balanced over time.

When looking at the average residential price, and what many believe it will become, it is forecast to increase by 2.3 percent in the 2011 year, and then come down slightly by 0.4 percent in 2012. It is important to note, though, that these changes will be influenced by employment within the region.

BC Canada real estate continues to do well in most types of housing sales. For those who are looking for condo townhomes, these are popular within Vancouver itself, especially in the urban area. However, detached homes, with sprawling backyards and numerous rooms are also available in this region. Apartments are available, but less popular and not as trendy.

In areas such as Victoria, Fraser Valley and the Chilliwack District, home options are numerous. Some communities have small homes in a more urban setting, while others are suburban and sprawling. The area does attract some international travelers, especially to the area of Victoria, Vancouver Island and the Greater Vancouver region. Here, people may come for the downtown living and buy apartments, condos or, in some cases, the trendier loft style facilities.

BC, Canada real estate listings show the significant amount of inventory available in the area. There are also a number of BC Canada rentals available for those who are looking for an easier method to get into the housing market, since overall BC Canada real estate for sale can be expensive.
